Govo guide · for the Steering Committee

The Placement Board

Once the House Resolutions Committee approves a resolution, the Steering Committee decides where on the agenda it is heard. The Placement Board lists every approved resolution not yet placed on the left, and gives each agenda item a column on the right.

  • Opens from Steering › Placement Board
  • Signed in as a steering committee member
  • Tested on a laptop-size screen
How do I…?

Your responsibilities

  • Place every resolution the House Resolutions Committee approves on the agenda, under the item where it will be heard.
  • Set the order within each item, so the meeting hears related resolutions together and the most pressing in time.
  • Keep each part of the agenda within the time it has.
  • Place new approvals as they arrive, right up to the meeting.
  • Save your placements, so the agenda is ready to publish.

How do I…?

  1. Place resolutions on an agenda item
  2. Move a resolution to another item
  3. Reorder an item, or send a resolution back
  4. Save, or undo what I haven't saved

  5. Choose Save at the top.

You can also drag a single resolution from the pool onto an agenda item’s column.

Reading a column

Motion

A resolution placed under the item, with its number.

Group

Resolutions placed together, with how many it holds.

Chair · Project

Cues written on the agenda for the item, such as the chair’s words or a slide deck. They aren’t placed from the pool.

The Board

Placement happens here, and only here: the pool on the left, the agenda on the right.

The pool and the agenda

The Unplaced pool lists every approved resolution not yet on the agenda. Each agenda item is a column, in running order, showing what is placed under it. The strip above is the day’s timeline, and Jump to item finds a column.

Placing resolutions

A resolution can be dragged onto a column, or several can be ticked and placed together.

Find it in the pool

Search items narrows the pool by number or title, and All, Resolutions and Discussions by type.

Tick several

Ticking resolutions gathers them for one placement. The button at the foot of the pool counts them: Place 2 selected…

Choose the agenda item

The dialog lists the agenda items in order, each with its section. The one chosen is where the resolutions will be heard.

Placed, not yet saved

The resolutions join the column after what was already there, and leave the pool. The bar at the top counts unsaved changes: Save keeps them, and Discard puts everything back.

On the agenda

A placed resolution

A placed resolution can be reordered, opened, moved or sent back without leaving the Board.

Its controls

Pointing at a placed resolution shows its controls: drag it to reorder the item, show its full details, move it to another item, or return it to the unplaced pool.

Full details

Full details show who moved and seconded the resolution, its status and when it was submitted.

Move to another item

Move to another item lists the agenda in order. Choosing one moves the resolution there, ready to save.

Save

Save keeps the placements: Placement saved, and the bar reads All changes saved. Delegates see them once the agenda is next published.
